Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms before using Philippine Legal AI’s research, account, or study features.

Last updated:

1. About the service

Philippine Legal AI (the “Service”) is an independent technology project. “We” and “us” refer to the operator using the Philippine Legal AI name; “you” means the person using the Service. This name does not represent a law firm or claim registered corporate status.

The Service offers searches of Philippine laws and jurisprudence, AI-assisted explanations, references, and practice and bar-examination study materials. It does not claim affiliation with or endorsement by the Supreme Court, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, any government agency, or any law school.

2. Eligibility and agreement

By choosing to submit questions or create an account after being given access to these terms, you agree to follow them, subject to the requirements for an enforceable agreement under applicable law. If you disagree, do not use those features.

You must be at least 18 and legally capable of entering into an agreement to submit questions or create an account. Organizational use requires authorization. Using the Service is free up to a daily allowance. You are charged only when you choose to buy loaded tokens, on the terms in section 7.

4. AI and accuracy limitations

The Service uses GraphRAG (graph-based retrieval-augmented generation). Algorithms search and rank laws and jurisprudence, follow relationships between sources, and use retrieved context to formulate answers. Some study answers may come from stored, previously reviewed materials; review does not make them official or infallible.

Retrieval-ranking algorithms are updated frequently to improve accuracy. A ranking estimates relevance; it does not establish which authority controls a question. Results can change with the collection, rankings, models, and software.

The Service is not 100% accurate. It may invent or misstate citations, overlook exceptions or later decisions, misunderstand facts, or rely on outdated sources. Coverage may be incomplete. No answer guarantees a legal outcome, an examination result, or admission to the Bar.

5. Verification and study materials

Verify material propositions against the full, current law or decision, including amendments and subsequent rulings. The Supreme Court is the Philippines’ highest court; this Service cannot settle legal controversies or override judicial rulings. Consult official sources such as the Supreme Court E-Library.

Practice questions and suggested answers are learning aids. Unless expressly identified and linked as an official publication, they are not official examiner answers or court-approved interpretations. Follow applicable school, examination, and professional rules on AI use and attribution.

6. Accounts

Use an email address you are authorized to use, protect your password, and report suspected unauthorized access to support. Do not access another person’s account. Your responsibility to safeguard credentials does not excuse security failures for which the operator is legally responsible.

7. Loaded tokens and payments

Every account gets a free daily allowance of tokens that resets at midnight, Manila time. You may also buy loaded tokens in the packs and at the peso prices shown on the Load tokens page before you pay. Loaded tokens are used only after the day’s free tokens run out, and for the Medium and High answer models, which the free allowance does not cover.

How many tokens an answer uses depends on the model you choose and on how much law it takes to answer. The Service shows an estimate for each model; the tokens actually deducted reflect the processing the answer required. An answer that fails or that you stop before it is finished is not charged.

Loaded tokens do not expire. They are not money, have no cash value, and cannot be transferred to another account.

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which sells the tokens as merchant of record and accepts cards and PayPal. The Service does not receive or store your card or wallet credentials. A receipt is sent to the email address used at checkout.

You may ask support for a refund of a purchase within 30 days of paying for it. Tokens already used are not refundable except where the law requires. A refund removes the refunded share of that purchase’s tokens from your balance. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Act of the Philippines or other applicable law.

8. Submissions

Asking requires an account. Your questions and their answers are associated with your account and are not published to other readers. This is a visibility setting, not a guarantee of legal privilege or complete confidentiality: do not submit confidential information, privileged communications, sensitive personal information, or details identifying private individuals. Use fictional or anonymized academic examples.

Questions asked before accounts were required were published under a Public questions listing, which has been withdrawn. Those entries are no longer displayed.

You retain any rights in your submissions and permit the processing, storage, and display necessary to provide the feature you request. This is not a transfer of ownership, unrestricted consent to unrelated personal-data use, or permission to infringe others’ rights.

9. Privacy and deletion

Account features process email, password authentication, and session information. Questions and answers are stored, and external AI services are used for relevant processing. Do not submit information you are not authorized to disclose.

History controls remove selected entries from your account history. Related normalized questions may remain in retrieval caches, and technical records or copies obtained by other people may persist. Contact support for a broader deletion request or to report personal information in public questions.

Our Privacy Policy sets out what is collected, who processes it, and how to delete your account.

These terms do not replace required privacy notices or waive rights under Republic Act No. 10173, the Data Privacy Act of 2012. Acceptance is not unrestricted consent to publication, retention, or AI training. You may contact support about access, correction, objection, or erasure, subject to applicable legal conditions, and may raise concerns with the National Privacy Commission.

10. Acceptable use

Respect applicable law and the rights of others. Do not:

  • Submit unlawfully obtained, confidential, defamatory, or infringing content.
  • Impersonate a lawyer, court, examiner, or another person, or present generated text as an authentic ruling or professional opinion.
  • Facilitate unauthorized legal practice, fabricate evidence or citations, or evade academic or examination rules.
  • Access private information without permission, bypass security or usage limits, introduce malicious code, or disrupt the Service.

Lawful criticism, good-faith error reporting, and complaints to competent authorities are not prohibited.

11. Intellectual property and sources

Rights in software, branding, and original materials remain with their respective owners, subject to applicable licences. These terms do not assert exclusive ownership over statutes, judicial decisions, or public-domain material.

Third-party publications and editorial content may have separate rights and conditions. Access here does not grant republication rights beyond applicable law or licences. AI output is not guaranteed to be unique or eligible for copyright protection. Report rights concerns with the source link and the basis of your concern.

12. Availability and termination

Maintenance, provider outages, and source changes may interrupt access. We may modify features or restrict access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security threats, or legal obligations, with notice and an opportunity to raise concerns where practicable.

You may stop using the Service at any time and contact support to request account closure. Closure does not remove obligations that lawfully continue, including data-protection obligations.

13. Disclaimers and liability

Subject to mandatory law, research features are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without a guarantee of completeness, uninterrupted access, or suitability for a particular legal purpose. Do not make an unverified answer the sole basis for a decision affecting legal rights.

To the extent Philippine law permits, we disclaim liability for indirect or consequential loss attributable to reliance on unverified AI output. This does not exclude or limit responsibility for fraud, bad faith, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, breaches of data-protection obligations, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Nothing here waives mandatory consumer remedies, prevents a lawful claim, or excuses noncompliance with law. The validity and scope of any disclaimer remain subject to applicable law and the competent authorities.

14. Philippine law and complaints

Philippine law governs these terms, subject to mandatory protections applicable to you. Send service concerns to support with the affected page and a description, omitting unnecessary personal information, so we can investigate and attempt resolution.

Contacting support is not a condition for urgent relief or statutory remedies. These terms impose no mandatory arbitration, exclusive venue, or shortened period for claims. Jurisdiction and venue follow applicable law. You remain free to approach courts, the National Privacy Commission, the Department of Trade and Industry, or another competent authority.

15. Changes and general provisions

Revisions will carry an updated date. We will bring material changes to users’ attention before applying them and obtain acceptance where legally required. Revisions cannot retroactively remove accrued rights or authorize new personal-data uses without the required notice and lawful basis.

If a provision is invalid, the rest applies only insofar as it can lawfully operate independently. Failure to enforce a provision once does not itself waive it. Mandatory law prevails over these terms.
